The 18 % minimum chromium content in ASME SA 516 Gr. 70 CS Coils provides corrosion and oxidation resistance, where it also must contain at least 10.5 percent chromium. ASTM A516 Gr. 70 CS Slatting Coils may contain much higher chromium levels, and additional alloying ingredients like molybdenum, nickel, titanium, aluminum, copper, nitrogen, phosphorous and selenium. ASME SA 516 Gr. 70 CS Perforated Coils is an economical and practical choice for most environments, but it doesn’t have the chloride resistance.
